Park Slope Brownstone
Located deep in Brooklyn’s historic Park Slope neighborhood, this three-story brownstone stands tall and proud with original plaster moldings and lived-in hardwood floors. However, the small master bathroom was no longer a place of rejuvenation, relaxation, or self-care for the 21st century.
As a response to their doctor’s concern of increased blood pressure, our client was advised that a daily relaxing steam can help decrease blood pressure and improve overall health and wellbeing. Combining the existing bathroom with two adjacent closets allowed for a complete bathroom makeover with ample space for ultimate relaxation. In place of the original clawfoot tub, a glass enclosed steam shower was designed with comfortable seating and a custom glass mosaic art piece. The in-shower bench seamlessly continues past the glass allowing for a respite before and after the steam. Below the bench, built-in closed storage was integrated with open shelving to the side for easy to grab essentials. Integrated speakers, a hand shower and recessed ceiling rain shower provide a high-end customised spa experience. The walls were clad with high-tech, maintenance-free porcelain slabs that perfectly mimic luxurious marble.
